Mark Oxtoby

Mark Oxtoby was born in Coventry, England, and grew up in the nearby town of Nuneaton, where most of his family still resides today. He is a graduate of North Warsickshire College of Technology and Art as a production and mechanical engineer. He worked for Clarkson International Tools when he made his initial trip to the U.S. to purchase CNC equipment. It was during that trip he met his future wife, Carole Pace, in 1988. Mark moved to the States and married Carole at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in February 1990. They settled in Saluda, NC in May of that year. He has one son, Tyler, who graduated from Gardner Webb University.

He is the operations/branch manager for the Atlas Bolt & Screw Company in Flat Rock with 29 employees who manufacture and distribute fasteners for the metal building industry.

​

He is currently serving as a city commission for the City of Saluda, and has also served as a junior warden of the Church of the Transfiguration, and on the Polk County Zoning Board of Adjustment, Saluda Planning Board, the Saluda Fire and Rescue Department Board of Directors, and the board of the Carolina Foothills Hospice.

He became a proud American in 2008.
